What you will do

  • You will be leading the way in the set-up of a state-of-the-art digital commerce tech capability.
  • Enabling the set-up, of the Digital Campus in Porto as well as other tech functions at our clients.
  • Creating a state-of-the-art Tech & Analytics capability, building, developing, and managing a team of 100+ professionals.
  • Defining the technology strategy of our clients as well as supporting, implementing, or managing various solutions from headless frameworks to CMS systems, ML (product discovery, recommendation, and personalization) engines, PIM, PLM, OMS, CDN (back-end) solutions, CRM solutions, e-commerce platforms (b2c and b2b), (omnichannel) integrators and omnichannel technology.
  • Ensuring that the solutions Metyis delivers are properly architected, developed, tested, and delivered.
  • Building the IT strategy and roadmap for the e-commerce solution in collaboration with the Global Technology Lead
  • Working closely with the Leadership team to build Digital practice across the company.
  • Be responsible for team composition, sizing, and performance.
  • Developing technology and operating models to drive the digital business of our clients and be future-ready.
  • Challenging a diverse group of energetic team members to get the best out of them.
  • Driving the recruitment and operationalization of tech teams across clients and locations
  • Tech agnostic approach to digital eco-systems, such as various solutions from headless frameworks to CMS systems, ML (product discovery, recommendation, and personalization) engines, PIM, PLM, OMS, CDN (back-end) solutions, CRM solutions, e-commerce platforms (b2c and b2b), (omnichannel) integrators and omnichannel technology.
  • Driving and/or supporting business development including preparing technical responses with estimated project scope, costs, duration, and resource requirements in written proposals.
  • Working closely with architects and engineering teams to define the overall IT strategy
  • Close collaboration with business stakeholders to align the technical capabilities of the team with the business roadmap
  • Support the team in taking technology decisions
  • Optimizing the application landscape by reducing complexity, solving technical debt, increasing reliability, and minimizing informational and operational risks.
  • Extending and maintaining knowledge on the domain as well as on technology
  • Update our DevOps and related infrastructure & processes to improve systems, tools, automation, and methodologies.
  • Leading the continuous implementation of new industry standards and development methodologies including Agile & Kanban to increase responsiveness and growth.
  • Driving diversification of our team’s skills across different technologies, platforms, and business models.
  • Recommending best practices based on past experience, research, frameworks, design patterns, and visionary thinking.

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years work experience in a digital business or agencies, in comparable leadership roles with a solid hands-on experience
  • Experience with at least one of the enterprise eCommerce platforms like HCL Commerce, Oracle Commerce ATG & Endeca, Oracle Commerce Cloud solutions, Magento SAP Hybris, SAP Commerce Cloud, Shopify Plus, etc.
  • Experienced in leading the digital tech function in an international environment
  • Strong network connections to build the digital practice
  • Experience with agile workflows and methodologies
  • Experience in managing teams and roadmaps
  • Experience with Amazon AWS or other cloud providers
  • Strong in structured and logical thinking, problem-solving, issue resolution, and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills - ability to generate insight from complex situations and make it digestible to the masses
  • Demonstrated strength in digital optimization on websites, mobiles devices, and digital marketing vehicles
  • Strong organizational and process management skills
  • Strong team building and influence to help the growth of team members
  • Proven ability to collaborate broadly with a flexible, positive attitude and ability to get results
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate to the senior executive levels
