What you will do

The HR Business Consultant forms part of a Metyis global HR function and reports to the People Strategy & Innovation Lead. They are responsible for performing advanced, specialized and administrative duties as a key part of this growing team. The role works on people strategy development and execution. Our ideal candidate has a passion for people, strategy, making a lasting impact, and finding innovative ways to enhance HR in our fast-paced professional services environment.

In your new role, you will:

  • Act as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues relating to the assigned program or section area

  • Advise management on the formulation and administration of plans and policies for human resource activities

  • Develop, revise and implement HR policies and procedures and strives for digital and agile HR practices

  • Ensure program or section area is in compliance with established policies and procedures and with any relevant legislation in collaboration with legal stakeholders

  • Prepare and maintain special internal and external reports as requested by the immediate supervisor

  • Drive engagement initiatives and people advisory support at Amsterdam office

  • Answer nonroutine requests for information on policy interpretation

  • Assist with developing, coordinating and recommending changes for the improvement of workflow in HR operations

  • Conduct periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures

  • Participate in professional development sessions or seminars

  • Coordinate and/or work in special and cross-functional project teams

  • Develop methods and procedures for compiling and analyzing data for reports and special projects

  • Present training sessions related to the assigned program or section area

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Be Amsterdam based

What you’ll bring

  • 2 - 4 years of professional-level experience in human resources in large, international organizations

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field, Master’s degree advantageous

  • Experience in or affinity for consulting and professional services fields are preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, command of Dutch language will be advantageous

  • Excellent people, interpersonal and customer service skills - ability to create quality connections with diverse individuals

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strategic and innovative mindset with solid business acumen

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to deal with complex issues in a confidential, professional, and sensitive manner

  • Flexible mind-set and comfortable with uncertainty

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite:
    - Clear PowerPoint presentation design and delivery
    - Solid Excel analysis and reporting capabilities
    - Effective use of digital collaboration tools (MS teams, SharePoint or equivalent)
