Meet Senior Analyst Paloma Letelier and Principal Sara Pardo from Madrid

Tell us a little about yourself

Sara: I grew up in a small place next to Costa Brava and am currently living in Madrid. I live with a bag half packed, always ready to go south, west, or north to catch some waves. One of the things I enjoy the most is connecting the great people I encountered in my life. I love my dog Pepa, my family, and friends.

Currently I am helping AWWG transformation through business digitalisation with an amazing, professional team and seeking new business opportunities, mainly in fashion and sustainability.

Paloma: I grew up in Chile, and three years ago, I moved to Madrid. One of the things I most enjoy is doing sports, which are central to my life. I love skiing and mountain climbing, where I feel deeply connected to nature and experience a unique sense of freedom and excitement.

Currently, I am a Senior Analyst at Metyis, focusing on sustainability and renewable energy projects. Beyond my designation, what I particularly enjoy about my role is the opportunity to contribute value to society and the world. It's a dynamic and enjoyable profession that constantly presents new challenges and opportunities for growth. Working in the field of sustainability and renewable energy allows me to tackle meaningful projects while also staying at the forefront of innovation and progress.

How do you feel about Metyis Spain being recognised as part of the B Corp community?

Sara: Being recognised as part of the B Corp community fills me with pride and satisfaction. It is a testament to Metyis Spain's commitment to sustainability, social responsibility, and transparency in our operations. Being part of this global community of companies striving to make a positive impact on the world fills me with optimism and motivation to continue working towards a more sustainable and equitable future.

Paloma: We are extremely proud and pleased to be recognised as part of the B Corp community. The road to achieving this certification was long and challenging at first, but it was worth every effort. The process not only allowed us to meet rigorous sustainability and social responsibility standards, but also helped us to order and define our internal processes. It also contributed significantly to improving the happiness and satisfaction of our employees. We are now in a much stronger position to operate in a more environmentally sustainable manner. This recognition reflects our continued commitment to sustainability and the values that Metyis promotes. We are truly proud of this achievement and look forward to continuing to contribute positively to the B Corp community.

What sets Metyis Spain apart from other companies that have made it into the B Corp community?

Sara: What sets Metyis Spain apart from other companies that have obtained B Corp certification is our comprehensive approach to sustainability and social impact. Metyis has also put people at the core of the company and build a collaborative environment where employees propose and run initiatives of their interest. The “Volunteer and Donations Program”, the “Sports events” or Probono projects are examples of it.

Paloma: Our commitment to sustainability is not just a part of our strategy; it is the core of our identity as a B Corp company. We stand out for our ability to integrate sustainability into all areas of activity, from project management to relationships with our employees and communities and clients. From our inception, we have prioritised the incorporation of responsible business practices. We see how we propose clients to start calculating the impact of their operations and how this can be mitigated while delivering value.

What changes has Metyis Spain had to make to become a B Corp?

Sara: Becoming a B Corp has prompted Metyis Spain to undertake significant changes in our operational approach. This includes reviewing and updating our internal policies to ensure they reflect our values and principles as a B Corp company. We have also had to implement more sustainable practices in our day-to-day operations, reducing our carbon footprint and fostering a corporate culture based on ethical and transparent values by providing incentives to all employees.

What should Metyis do to continue to maintain this B Corp vision?

Paloma: To continue maintaining our B Corp vision, Metyis Spain must continue to drive innovation and continuous improvement in all areas of activity. This involves seeking ways to minimise our environmental impact, promoting equality and diversity in the workplace, and positively contributing to the communities in which we operate. Additionally, we must continue to be transparent in our operations and work closely with other companies and organisations to create positive change on a large scale.

What do you think we should do as employees to maintain the B Corp commitment?

Sara: As employees of Metyis Spain, we must uphold our commitment to the values and principles of B Corp in every facet of our work. This entails being aware of our impact on the environment and society, both at work and outside of it. We must constantly seek ways to positively contribute to our surroundings and lead by example, whether through participating in volunteer initiatives, supporting social causes, or promoting fair and equitable labor practices. It is through our individual commitments that we fortify Metyis Spain's collective pledge as a B Corp-certified organisation.
