What you will do

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our SAP Data & Migration Team. As a SAP Architect / Migration Lead, you will be responsible for leading complex AI-assisted SAP data migration and modernization activities for our clients. You will define the migration approach, guide technical teams, align SAP and data platform architecture, and ensure that business-critical reporting, data flows, and legacy SAP objects are migrated in a controlled, scalable, and auditable way.

You will also work closely with AI developers and data engineers to help integrate AI-assisted migration tooling, accelerate analysis of SAP objects, improve documentation, support code and metadata interpretation, and enable faster migration delivery.

  • Lead the SAP migration architecture and define the technical roadmap for moving SAP BW, SAP HANA, ABAP-based logic, interfaces, and reporting assets to a modern cloud data platform.

  • Assess the existing SAP landscape, including SAP BW objects, SAP HANA models, ABAP logic, extractors, transformations, data flows, interfaces, APIs, reports, and integration dependencies.

  • Define migration strategy, wave planning, object prioritisation, cutover approach, and validation framework.

  • Support an AI-assisted migration approach by helping AI developers understand SAP structures, metadata, dependencies, ABAP logic, integration patterns, and migration rules.

  • Help AI developers integrate AI-assisted migration solutions with SAP metadata, SAP interfaces, code repositories, documentation sources, and target data platform components.

  • Translate legacy SAP logic into modern data architecture patterns together with Data Engineering, Databricks/Fabric, AI, and BI teams.

  • Own architectural decisions related to SAP data extraction, APIs/interfaces, historical data migration, delta loads, reconciliation, and performance optimisation.

  • Support SAP metadata management, business glossary alignment, lineage capture, and implementation of data catalog capabilities.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, critical KPIs, regulatory requirements, and migration risks.

  • Lead and support SAP BW / ABAP specialists, data engineers, BI developers, AI developers, and migration developers during design and delivery.

  • Ensure that migrated objects are documented, tested, reconciled, and aligned with governance, security, metadata, lineage, and audit requirements.

  • Drive technical excellence, delivery quality, and consistency with migration standards, best practices, and client architecture principles.

  • Support project planning, estimation, dependency management, risk identification, and executive-level migration reporting.

  • Coach and enable project team members to deliver high-quality migration outcomes across SAP and modern data platforms.

What you will bring

  • 10+ years of experience in SAP architecture, SAP BW, SAP HANA, SAP data warehousing, or large-scale SAP migration projects.

  • Good knowledge of SAP architecture, including core SAP products, SAP BW/BW on HANA, SAP HANA, SAP ERP/S/4HANA, integration layers, data flows, and system dependencies.

  • Strong understanding of SAP APIs, interfaces, extractors, integration patterns, and data exchange mechanisms across SAP products.

  • Strong experience with SAP BW / BW on HANA, SAP HANA, ABAP, SAP extractors, transformations, process chains, and data modelling concepts.

  • Proven experience leading SAP migration, modernization, or transformation programs.

  • Solid understanding of SAP reporting landscapes, including SAP BW queries, BEx, Analysis for Office, SAP BO, Power BI, or similar reporting tools.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP integration patterns, data extraction methods, delta mechanisms, reconciliation approaches, and performance considerations.

  • Experience translating SAP business logic and legacy data models into modern cloud data platform designs.

  • Understanding of modern data architecture concepts, including data lakes, lakehouse, medallion architecture, semantic layers, and governed data products.

  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or similar technologies is a strong plus.

  • Experience with SAP metadata management, data catalog implementation, business glossary, lineage, or data governance tooling is a strong plus.

  • Knowledge and practical usage of AI-assisted delivery, AI coding tools, AI documentation tools, or AI-based migration accelerators is a plus.

  • Ability to guide AI developers by explaining SAP object structures, metadata relationships, ABAP logic, extraction methods, and migration dependencies.

  • Ability to lead technical assessments, define migration roadmaps, estimate effort, and manage complex dependencies across multiple teams.

  • Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with the ability to validate data quality, completeness, and reconciliation results.

  • Experience with migration testing, parallel run, cutover planning, performance validation, and production readiness.

  • Good understanding of data governance, security, lineage, auditability, and compliance requirements in enterprise environments.

  • Ability to communicate complex SAP and architecture topics clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Customer centric, pragmatic, and passionate about delivering measurable business value.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to work with ambiguity in complex transformation environments.

  • Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams across SAP, Data Engineering, BI, AI, CloudOps, Governance, and Business Analysis.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Finance, or another related discipline. A Master’s Degree is a plus.
